Pixie Potions

I won a contest on the Pixie Potions website, my prize was a free 10ml bottle of their Fall-O'ween scent Vampyr - a deep Merlot sweetened by Raspberry, Blueberry & just a hint of the darkest Blackberry.

Straight from the bottle it smells like deep red wine, intoxicating! On my skin the wine is sweetened by the berries, but still has a boozy note lingering in the background. I think this scent would be wonderful for brisk Fall evenings or dark cold Winter nights.

I was able to sample 2 scents from Mythos Mixtures, a small family-owned fragrance company just starting out.

Belit-ili - The Babylonian goddess that later became the basis for Lilith. Belit-ili was the wife of Bel, the goddess of fertility and childbirth. She symbolized the female traits of feminine power and sensuality. --- Exotic spiced incense, with a kiss of lush, honeyed fruit.

Unfortunately this went all wrong on me, it is very sharp & smells like acetone on me, it sounded wonderful though....

Satyr - In Greek mythology, satyrs are sultry half-men, half-beast. There is a story of a youthful satyr named Ampelos, whom after his tragic death was turned into a grape vine by Dionysus. From this grape vine dripped the blood of the satyr, which in turn was now wine which satyrs so loved to drink. --- In honor of the late Ampelos, warm honey musk and grapes throughout.

This one is really nice. It has a sexy, musky honey note that reminds me of BPAL O, but the grapes add a slight sweetness, this is a definite date night scent!

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab

My favorite indie perfumerie is Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab which is owned by Elizabeth Moriarty and Brian Constantine, and is based in Los Angeles, California, United States.

With a general catalog of over 300 scent blends you can find a perfume (or many, as in my case!) to match your style & taste.

Every month the Lab releases a Luncay, which is a scent based on the full moon of that particular month, there are also limited edition oils released for the seasons.

Also be sure to check out BPAL.org, they have reviews for every Black Phoenix blend ever created & it's a great forum to hang out & talk about BPAL!

This blog....

Is for me to share my reviews of indie e-tailers bath & beauty products. I love yummy smelling bath & body products, how cool is it to have some random person tell you smell good!?

Whether it's handmade soaps, body scrubs, perfumes or lotions & butters I'll be posting my reviews & I'll be honest, if something smells awful or I don't like the consistency of a product I'll tell ya.
